I have read several texts or comments from client regarding the glitches in the system. I however, believe that the company’s working toward fixing them.
Their support team has always been very open and grateful for even my own reports to them and I actually get results/solutions to my problems.
Firstly I do believe the concept to use such a service is great. Finding out what my competitors are doing is really a good idea. Unfortunately the way KeywordSpy go about it just doesn’t cut it for me.
Firstly what made me signup was the fact that I could see all the keywords my competitors were using. This is great in theory, but after I signup I found that most of the keywords many of my competitors were using were rubbish.
It seem that all my competitors were using keywords that were not working for them. After I signed up I found that over 2/3 of the keywords I received from my competitors were useless.
Secondly I decided to signup was to find the keywords with little competition. Sure they supply these but out of the few that were actually related to my industry, the analysis was way out of date. All the keywords that Keywordspy said only had 1 competitor really had at least four.
And the final reason for never touching Keywordspy, is they recurring charges. As a merchant I feel it is the customer’s choice whether to stay, this does not apply for Keywordspy. I only wanted to test it for first month, so three weeks later I logged on to cancel my account. THERE IS NOT AUTOMATED WAY TO DO THIS! You have to ask them to do so.

I loved the thought of getting an edge over my competitors by seeing what they are using and what works for them. I’ve been using Keyword Spy along with my other SEO tools with great success! I’d recommend it to anyone.
I really liked being able to see what my competitors were doing. Even if their keywords weren’t working for them, at least I’d know what ones “not” to do.
I liked how there was the different packages available. I’m currently using the research package for my keyword needs, but may upgrade later on.
I’m not sure if my competitors really know which keywords work and which ones don’t, but it is a nice to get a fresh perspective. Sometimes I find that my competitors have thought of keyword combinations that I haven’t, and it is great to be able to see what those are.
I have been trying to work out how to use this program for three days. The instructional videos tell you what everything does but gives no hint as to use the data.
For instance the instructor says “This is the ROI and this is how it is calculated” But never mentions what is a good figure a bad figure or what is the use of the data. It comes up with a box saying “Showing 4 keywords” Does that mean that that is all it has found or does it mean there are no more???? They use words like “coverage” and never say what they mean. There is no user explanations of how to interpret ate or evaluate the data or what is important or just interesting. Probably a great program for a fully experienced whiz. Useless for beginners or with medium level knowledge. Slow support response.
